One thing I don’t see mentioned is whether or not the new mini-campaign can be played as the Empire or only as the Beastmen. So it’s probably comparable to the Total War Rome Peloponnesian War expansion. In addition you can play as the Beastmen in the Grand Campaign. Looks like it has it’s own handcrafted map just for the Beastmen campaign. I wonder how long the story campaign is supposed to be.

I tend to watch Netflix on the other display, so I’ve had cause to test almost every game I’ve played for the last several years in Windowed mode, and it’s almost always a better experience - full screen (windowed) is the best, since it’s the best of both worlds, if available.
Why would running in a window be no idea, but I can tell you that I’ve encountered dozens and dozens of games over the last half-decade (or more) that run more stable and just plain better when run under a Window. If you are in full screen, DX11 or 12, give that a shot. I’ve been running DX12 mode since it became available and have noticed the odd (rare) shadow bug (shadows just vanish and reappear as I situate the camera) but otherwise it’s been great, so I recommend giving it a shot.īut the biggest suggestion can provide is to NOT run the game in Full Screen - I noticed when I played in a window it ran SO MUCH SMOOTHER across the board. Also, DX12 is in beta so even if it’s not better performing now, it might well once DX12 is finalized - the purpose of DX12 from what I read is it opens the API’s for the developers to really tweak and optimize their specific game, so once CA is happy with DX12 anyone with a DX12 card under Windows 10 should be sitting better. I have a 1080 GTX so it was running great in and out of DX12, so I can’t say for sure, but I have heard that AMD cards run this better than NVidia cards (even in DX12) so it’s hard to say. I did try and find some info about it on the CA stuff (casually) but couldn’t see any. I imagine that DX12 might depend on your card etc. Btw do we know if DX12 IMPROVES performance all round? I am having some weird slow downs in 11 -and Attila runs pretty good now.
